The Mooch is loose.
In more surprising news out of the White House Monday, Anthony Scaramucci left his role as communications director after less than two weeks on the job.
White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci arrives at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., Friday, July 28, 2017, to board Air Force One to travel with President Donald Trump to Brentwood, N.Y.
“The Mooch” was prone to sharp language in his brief stint in the Trump White House. In an unfiltered interview with the New Yorker last week, Scaramucci berated outgoing Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and threw additional shade at the president’s chief strategist, Steve Bannon.
Now that Scaramucci’s been cut loose, here’s a look at 10 different things that, surprisingly, lasted longer than Scaramucci’s brief tenure at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro ran from Aug. 5-21, a whopping six days longer than Scaramucci’s service.
Kim K. and Kris Humphries
This Aug. 31, 2011 file photo shows newlyweds Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries attending a party thrown in their honor at Capitale in New York.
Famed reality TV star Kim Kardashian was married to NBA player Kris Humphries for a total of 72 days (August-October 2011), although it certainly felt longer.
The scented fragrances from Glade can last about 30 days — far longer than The Mooch’s reign in the White House briefing room.
Roger Clemens’ retirement announcements
In this June 9, 2007 file photo, New York Yankees’ Roger Clemens delivers a pitch in the first inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates in an interleague baseball game at Yankee Stadium in New York.
The flame-throwing right-hander was a coveted pitcher in the MLB for 24 years. He had his share of retirement announcements, too. First, from the Yankees after 2003. Then from the Astros after 2006 — when he magically appeared in the owner’s box at Yankee Stadium in May 2007.
Donald Trump’s promises to repeal Obamacare
Since he’s been on the campaign trail, Donald Trump has promised to immediately and swiftly repeal Obamacare. The president-elect railed against the law before taking office, and recognized the hardships that come with repealing signature legislation just days into his presidency.
Michael Flynn’s tenure
In this Feb. 10, 2017 file photo, then-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn sits in the East Room of the White House in Washington.
When Trump took the White House on Jan. 20, Flynn was his choice as National Security Advisor. He served in that capacity until Feb. 13, when it was revealed that Flynn misled Vice President Mike Pence about the nature of his communication with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Sean Spicer’s off-camera briefings
Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer speaks during the daily White House briefing, Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, in the briefing room of the White House in Washington.
Spicer began blocking some media outlets from off-camera briefings in February. Then, in the spring, his regular briefings became increasingly off-camera. Meanwhile, Spicer hid “amongst” the bushes at the White House and made the “Holocaust Centers” comment that raised more than a couple eyebrows.
Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson
Detroit rock star Kid Rock, right, and former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson enjoy the Detroit Pistons game against the Miami Heat Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, in Auburn Hills, Mich.
Kid Rock and Pam Anderson were married in July 2006 in Saint-Tropez, France. On Nov. 27 of that year, Anderson filed for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court. They allegedly could not agree on where to reside.
“Suicide Squad” number-one at box office
The superhero ensemble film which was panned by critics, reigned at the box office for three weeks in the summer of 2016. It was finally overtaken by “Don’t Breathe.”
While it earned nearly $750 million worldwide, its convoluted plot held it back from the status of more successful Marvel movies and even DC’s “Wonder Woman.”
Wouldn’t you know! Cottage cheese can actually last longer than Scaramucci’s employment in the White House? The product can be good for about 10-14 days after the sell-by date.
So, as your cottage cheese reaches its expiration date, so has at least one Trump staffer.
