Bruce is back.
Free agent Jay Bruce will sign a deal with the Mets, where he spent parts of the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The deal, pending a physical, is for three years and worth $39 million, an industry source confirmed to the Daily News.
New York sent Bruce to the Indians shortly after the trade deadline last season. Cleveland sent back righthander Ryder Ryan and took over the remainder of Bruce’s 2017 salary, which was around $5 million.
The Daily News reported last week that, contrary to popular belief, the Mets were prepared to spend more money than most believed this offseason.
This is a developing story, check back for updates.
